Apex Mountain is directly between Vancouver, BC and Banff, AB in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia
- 40 minute drive from the Penticton Airport - shuttles available
- 120 minute drive from the Kelowna Airport - shuttles available
- 2 hours from Big White and Silver Star.
- 3 hours from Red Mountain.

From Penticton
33 km, 30 minute drive from Penticton.
From the North or South of town, take the Chanel Parkway.
Turn on to Green Mountain Rd, following the Apex signs. This turn off has a bridge crossing the chanel, immediately followed by a Super Save Gas station.
Follow Green Mountain Road for approximately 22km.
Turn right at the intersection (Apex Guest Ranch) and drive another 11km to Apex.
Once on Green Mountain Road there will be very few signs & no street lights,
don't worry, you are on the right road! These roads are paved and kept in very good condition. Plowing and Sanding is done continually as weather conditions require.
Chains are generally not required, but good winter snow tires are needed Oct to April.
From Vancouver
4.5 Hours Driving Time. Scenic, sometimes winding mountain highway.
Trans Canada Highway #1 East to Hope, at interchange, take Highway #3 towards Princeton and Keremeos.
At Keremeos, turn left onto Highway #3A. From Bear's Fruit Stand on Highway #3A
(you can't miss it, on your left)
Drive 11.5 km to the turn off to Green Mountain Rd. There is a highway sign and an Apex Billboard on your right as you get to a passing lane just before the turn off. The turn off is hard to see in the dark.
Stay on Green Mountain Rd for 14km until the intersection with Apex Mountain Rd (at the Apex Guest Ranch). Drive another 11km to the village entrance. Follow the signs toward the Village Centre.
FOR THE ADVENTUROUS SOUL WITH A GOOD CAR:
On Highway #3 from Princeton, drive 38 km to Hedley (before Keremeos). Drive 2.7 km from bridge, turn left onto Hedley Nickel Plate Road, marked only with a very small sign on the side of the road. This road is a single lane, dirt, steep, winding road not for the faint of heart, but with spectacular views. Stay on the main road,
past the mine building (being decommissioned). The road will start to widen, though is still gravel.
Pass by Nickel Plate Nordic Centre, the road will eventually turn into pavement.
At this point keep going down about 1 km, stay right to drive down to the Village Centre.
From Seattle
6 Hours Driving Time. 505 kms There are two routes, both approx. the same driving time.
Route 1:
Drive North on I-5 to Bellingham and exit on Highway 542. Drive northeast through Lynden to cross the border at Sumas.
Trans Canada Highway #1 East to Hope, at interchange, take Highway #3 towards Princeton and Keremeos.

Drive East to Highway #97. North to Oroville, cross border to Osoyoos.
Stay on Highway #97 North to Penticton. As you approach Penticton, pass the airport on your left, the next light, turn left onto the Channel Parkway By Pass. At the first light, turn left onto Green Mountain Road to Apex Mountain Resort. Drive 22 km, turn right onto Apex Mountain Road.
Summer Only; Cascade Highway # 20. Drive north on I5 to Burlington, turn onto Highway #20 A very scenic drive; a winding mountain highway, the portion through the mountains to Winthrop is not open during the winter months. Continue through Winthrop and Twisp, onto Omak.
Turn north onto Highway #97 to Oroville, cross border to Osoyoos.
Stay on Highway #97 North to Penticton.

4-6 hours driving time.
Drive West on Highway #3 to Osoyoos.
Stay on Highway #97 North to Penticton.

From Calgary
8 Hours Driving Time 710 kms.
Take Trans Canada Highway #1 West through Banff and Golden to Sicamous.
Turn left onto Highway #97 South, follow this highway through Vernon and Kelowna to Penticton.
As you approach Penticton, at the second set of lights, turn right onto the Channel Parkway By Pass.
At the second set of lights turn right onto Green Mountain Road towards Apex Mountain Resort.

Follow Green Mountain Road for approximately 22km.
Turn right at the intersection (Apex Guest Ranch) and drive another 11km to Apex.
Air
A full schedule of flights is available to Kelowna from Vancouver, Calgary and Seattle. Including Air Canada, Westjet, and Horizon.
Penticton receives Air Canada flights from Vancouver.

Shuttles
Penticton Taxi services Kelowna and Penticton Airports. The shuttles must be booked in advance. Please notify the accommodator of the client details and they will make the arrangements.

Inter Mountain Transfers
Big White, Silver Star, Sun Peaks and Apex have a transfer system that utilizes the resort shuttle service. The shuttles exchange at the Kelowna Airport. Rates are the sum of the individual resort shuttles.

Budget cars and vans are available at both Kelowna and Penticton.
